Black BEAT 2010 Dream Team Committee Positions

Black BEAT Dream Team committee members are the heart of our organization. In order to provide the activities and services to those attending our conference, we need your involvement. It just takes a little time, a little energy, and most of all commitment. Committee members will meet with their prospective committee's to ensure that all tasks are completed prior to the conference. Positions will last several months prior to the conference and most interaction between committees will take place on/ off line.

Listed below are available committee positions their job descriptions for this years conference. If you see a position (s) that interest you, select them on the application below. There is a two (2) committee limit.

Applications are only to be filled out by those attending the Black BEAT 2010 Conference. The application due date is on or before March 31, 2010.

Ad/ Sponsorships ( 3 positions available ) This committee will acquire ads and secure sponsorships for the upcoming event program book and conference (ads, in kind and for pay advertisement).

Dungeon ( 2 Positions available ) Committee members will work along side the Dungeon Chair to assist in acquiring demo presenters for the dungeon, assisting with setup for the Dom/sub auction, and communication with the dungeon monitors before and during the conference. Most be able to arrive at the dungeon 1 hour before attendees arrive on Friday & Saturday and must have own vehicle. The ideal candidates must have knowledge of the set up of the Crucible.

Entertainment / Audio - Video Coordinator: Secure event specific entertainment ( DJ and/or live entertainment) which includes Thursday, Friday and Saturday's events. The ideal committee member must have working knowledge of ALL audio/ visual needs {i.e. PA & Powerpoint set-up ) of the conference and will work closely with the Logistics Director .

Hospitality Room & After party Coordinators ( 2 positions available) Committee members will coordinate hospitality rooms and schedule after party's on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Must create a master party schedule and let participates into designated rooms at designated times. This committee will be directly corresponding with participants prior to and during the conference.

Logistics Assistant Director ( 2 positions available ) Committee members will assist the Logistics Director in overseeing all aspects of Friday and Saturday programming. This person will work very closely with core members and various committee chairs. The ideal candidates must be dependable, have an eye for detail, able to multitask, and available for pre conference meetings via phone and/or chat.

Programming Assistant (Co Chair)Committee members will work along side the Programming Chair and the Presenter Concierge prior to the conference and during. This committee member is responsible for all correspondence with presenters, and the scheduling for presenters workshops. Must be dependable, committed, and well organized. Prior experience is helpful but not mandatory.

PR Assistants ( 2 positions available) Committee member will work along side PR Chair to assist in writing and sending notices to organizations, businesses and notices to be sent to online groups. Creative writing skills with some knowledge in public relations. Must commit to being a fearless front line person for public and private communication. Committee members help to organize contact base for conference marketing and promotion. This committee will also work along side the online outreach committee representatives

Pre Conference Organizer- Thursday ( Chair & Co Chair ) Seeking two ( 2) pre event planners to oversee the activity planned for Thursday's pre-conference NCSF/Black BEAT Fundraiser gathering. Must be able to arrive to the hotel Thursday morning/ afternoon, must be personable, creative, have an eye for detail, able to multitask, work within a budget, and well organized. These committee members will work with the BB decorator, hotel and catering staff . The ideal committee members should have previous event planning experience which is preferable, but not mandatory.

Presenters Concierge Assistant- ( 2 positions available ) Committee members will work along side the Presenters Concierge assisting in overseeing hospitality for Black BEAT presenters and special guest prior to the conference. The Concierge will confirm itinerary's for accommodations before and during the conference, handle special request, assist with presenters check in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, coordinate onsite PA(presenters assistants) volunteers to be assigned to various presenters during the conference, and make sure classrooms are prepared for workshops. This is a very detailed job for a well organized person. Ideal candidates are asked to be service oriented, however, not mandatory.

Online Outreach Representatives ( 3 positions available ) Seeking three (3) representatives one from each coast, east , mid west, and west coast. Candidates must be efficient and well organized to assist the public relations committee. You will correspond with groups /organization leaders before the conference. Will network / contact {via online only} with groups who wish to outreach with BB. The ideal committee members must have excellent writing and grammar skills.

Security ( Co Chair ) Co-chair needed who will plan the security strategy for the upcoming event. This committee will oversee recruiting 15 person staff and create the master schedule for security prior to the conference. This position is open to Male or Female and will work along side security chair, Master Void

Registration Committee ( 3 positions available )To assist Chair with registration before and during the conference. Must be committed to work selected registration shifts during the three (3) day registration check-in during the conference. { Thursday , Friday, Saturday } Must be personable, friendly, detailed oriented and able to multitask. The ideal candidates must be available for an in-service on the new access database that will be used for this years conference. Committee members must be available for pre conference phone/ conference chats prior to the conference.

Transportation Coordinator- TC ( 2 position available ) Coordinators will work along side the registration committee to keep an accurate record of those who've purchased transportation. TC's will be responsible for making sure anyone getting onto the motor coach's { to and from the dungeon} are on the transportation list, and movies are onboard for each bus. Those who volunteer for this position must meet the buses outside once they have arrived to the hotel. TC's will receive complimentary motor coach transportation throughout the weekend.

Vendor Coordinators ( 2 positions )Committee members will schedule and oversee conference vendors. The ideal persons must be personable, must be available to assist vendors with set up the morning of the vendor mart and be able to correspond with vendors before and during the conference.

Volunteer Coordinator Assistants- VCA ( 2 positions ) VCA's select dedicated volunteers for various assignments in multiple conference areas. Making sure that each area has adequate coverage in providing schedules and assignments for volunteers. This committee will work with Registration, Dungeon, Security, and Presenters committees. The chair and co chair are also responsible for outreach to other local ( DC/MD/ VA) volunteer coordinators prior to the conference.
